More than 70 photos are to be on display in the show entitled 'Tre em thoi chien', or 'Children in wartime' exhibition, held on occasion of the 40th anniversary of the victory on air at Dien Bien Phu. The photos have been provided by Nihon Denpa TV News - Japan (NDN), Vietnam News Agency and the Young Pioneers Newspaper.
NDN opened a permanent office in Hanoi in 1964, and has over 2,000 photos, documentaries and news broadcasts about Vietnam. Among them is the only documented, in colour film, about the funeral of President Ho Chi Minh. In 2011, Kim Dong Publishing House bought more than 2,000 photos of Vietnam taken between 1965 and 1975.
The photos in the exhibition have been selected from these to show the daily lives of children during wartime, when many parts of the country were heavily bombed by the US. Kim Dong Publishing will also display a number of children's books published at the time.
The exhibition can be viewed from September 7 to 14 at No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hanoi.
