Family reunions can be hard to organize with family members possibly living in different states. Having a family reunion website can make organizing these events easier and less time consuming. A family reunion site can allow everyone to to upload onto the site and share pictures and memories. The family reunion site can also be used for much more than just the family reunion.

Instructions

   1. Determine if you want to use free online tools or paid web hosting subscriptions. There are free options that were specifically created at building websites for families. These are great sources if you are just starting out and not sure of the process of building and maintaining a website. The down side to free websites is the tools and services may be limited. Free websites may be difficult to get support if you have issues or get stuck. Paid web hosting will allow you to create a professional looking website. Most paid web hosting have more options and service professionals available by phone or email if you need help.

   2. Build your website by adding content. Each hosting company will have website building tools available. Many also have very helpful tutorials. Follow their directions for each site. They will allow you to create multiple pages for viewing. The sites also allow you to upload pictures easily and add places for text and messages.

    3. Update the site frequently. Make it interesting. You want family members to go there for more than just the annual reunion picture viewing. Keep a calendar with family members' birthdays, organize holidays through the website and get pictures onto the site where everyone can view them. The website should be a place for your family to connect and reminisce.

    4. Utilize social media outlets. Make sure that your family knows that the website has been updated and with what information. Become friends on Facebook and follow your family members on Twitter. Update your status and tweet with reminders and major updates to the site.
