Over 700 sets of remains unearthed in Hoi An
Up to 700 sets of remains were found at a seafood processing factory in Son Phong Ward, Hoi An ancient town in Quang Nam province over three days.

Mr. Nguyen Su, Hoi An’s Party Secretary, said that initial tests show that most of the remains were civilians but there are some remains of American soldiers and Vietnamese soldiers of the Saigon regime. This site used to be a cemetery and then an army camp.

“We have unearthed over 700 remains on one third of the 2ha area. I’m sure that there are many more remains in this site,” Su said.

The official said that the remains would be buried at the city’s cemetery.

“We plan to tear down some facilities of this seafood processing factory to find out all remains,” he said.
