Representatives from the Viet Nam Office for Seeking Missing Personnel and the US Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command and US Ambassador to Viet Nam David Shear attended the event.
The Vietnamese handed over two boxes of remains and belongings discovered during joint field activities from July to September this year.
The remains and objects had been verified by Vietnamese and US forensic specialists to be associated with the US servicemen.
Speaking at the function, the 120th of its kind since 1973, a representative from the US Government expressed gratitude for the humanitarian policy, goodwill and co-operation of the Vietnamese Government.
The search for the remains of US soldiers is a co-operative effort between the two governments.
