A SISTER and two brothers who were separated after being taken into care were reunited after more than 50 years – thanks to the Liverpool ECHO.

Pauline Murphy, 69, managed to trace brother Ronald before visiting Liverpool from New Zealand, but found her other brother John just days before she was due to travel back home.

Someone who knew John spotted the ECHO article about her search and got in touch with Pauline ahead of her flight Down Under.

Reflecting on her few weeks in Merseyside, Pauline said: “It was absolutely amazing. To have met and found both my brothers in the short time I was here was unbelievable.

“I don’t have to worry about it anymore, I know where they are.

“It goes without saying that I am incredibly thankful that someone spotted my story in the ECHO that day. I really did not even know if John was still alive.”

Mum-of-three Pauline spent the day with John, 66, going for breakfast and enjoying a walk in the park near where he lives in Aigburth.

Pauline lost touch with her brothers, Ronald and John Griffiths, after she was adopted in the 1950s.
