Addressing the signing ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on September 28, Minister Quang said the Vietnamese and Cambodian Governments were determined to work closely to put an end to human trafficking and contribute towards building world peace.
Minister Ing Kantha Phavi expressed appreciation of Vietnam’s efforts to curb this crime and pledged to continue cooperating and assisting Vietnam in their mission.
According to Vietnam’s Anti-Crime Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, in 2011 and the first six months of this year, the Vietnamese side responded to Cambodia’s request to identify 17 victims, handed over 15 victims back to Cambodia, rescued 36 persons and handed over thousands of illegally migrating Cambodian women and children.
Vietnamese police detected 45 human trafficking cases, caught 11 culprits and rescued 92 victims, the department announced.
