 Grants to Mr. Duoc

Revolutionary martyr Phan Huu Duoc who unexpectedly returned after 40 years was recently granted subsidies entitled to him under current government policy.

Doctors from a hospital in Haiphong recently made a house call to check on his medical status, giving their opinions on the proper means of treatment for his injuries and illnesses.

Major-general, Do Can, Deputy Head of High Command of Zone 3, also granted his subsidies that apply to war veterans according to regulations.

These regulations provide those who joined resistance war with the US, and fought in the army service since before April 30, 1975 with financial support. However, if they had served for less than 20 years, there are no retirement benefits available to the war veterans.

It was decided that Duoc would receive the highest subsidy of VND6.9 million (USD328.5). In addition, the High Command of Zone 3 granted the veteran gifts with a total value of VND5 million (USD238).

Major Ong Vinh Hoa, Deputy Head of Brigade 354, formerly known as 559 Truong Son Multi-division, also visited Duoc and gave him VND10 million (USD476).

Leaders of the Hanoi Medical University have also given gifts to Duoc and promised to support him in the long-term healthcare for healthcare services.
